CPMA Elects New Officers

Chris Manning Elected VP and Chair of CPMA

On December 5, 2023, the Color Pigments Manufacturers Association (CPMA) held its Annual Meeting in Cincinnati, OH. New officers and board members were elected for the 2024-2025 term. This includes Aaron Hollman of Sun Chemical, elected as CPMA president and chair, and Chris Manning of Shepherd Color, elected as vice president and chair. During the meeting, CPMA honored Ronald Levi, the outgoing CPMA president and chair.

Newly elected vice president and chair of the CPMA, Chris Manning, is the president and general manager of The Shepherd Color Company. “I am proud to be elected to the position of vice president to serve the CPMA Board and the president, Aaron, in the strengthening and advance of the color pigment supply chain, sustainability and legislative initiatives. Shepherd Color has been a member and supporter of the CPMA for many years and has had the privilege of representing the Association in several leadership roles. The CPMA is a leading organization for the color-producing and color-using industry in North America and a collaborator in global color-related initiatives, drawing on expertise from many companies and knowledge bases and Shepherd Color is happy to provide its expertise in inorganic pigments to the Association to improve and advance the industry as a whole,” said Manning.

An active member of CPMA, Shepherd Color’s EHS manager, Gary Strassell, is the CPMA Inorganic Pigments Committee’s Chair. “I have been active with the CPMA team on regulatory issues for nearly 40 years. Through the CPMA I have had the opportunity to network with some of the greatest minds in the pigment industry. It is my pleasure to continue to serve as Committee Chair for the Inorganic Pigment Committee,” said Strassell.

During the December Annual Meeting, members heard from industry experts across the color pigments value chain who shared their perspective and insights about the business landscape in 2024. Over the past few years, sustainability has been an industry initiative, which the CPMA will continue to focus on.
